PageCrawl can turn each detected change into an item on a monday.com board. The item carries the columns you pick (link, importance, AI summary, labels and more), and the summary and the diff are posted as an update on the item, so your team can assign it, comment on it and move it along like any other piece of work.
PageCrawl creates the items itself; there is no automation recipe to build or maintain.
How It Works
Each board you write to is a destination: a board, the columns to fill, and which monitors feed it. A workspace can have several, so a pricing folder can land on one board and a legal-terms label on another. A change that qualifies for both is written to both.
There are two ways to fill a board:
- Item per change: every detected change becomes a new item, with the summary and the diff posted as its first update. Optionally add a Review status column: each new item starts as To review, and PageCrawl never changes it again, so your team can move it to whatever status they use.
- Item per monitor: one item per monitor, updated in place with its latest value. The board becomes a live table of what each page says now. Use it for price lists, stock levels or the current version of a policy.
A monitor's first check is a baseline rather than a change, so in Item per change it does not produce an item.
Setting It Up
- Go to Settings > Integrations and find the monday.com card
- Click Connect, sign in to monday.com and approve access
- Back in PageCrawl, click Add destination and choose:
- Where it goes: an existing board, or Create a board for me in the monday.com workspace you pick. For an existing board you can also choose which group new items are added to
- What to write: Item per change or Item per monitor
- Which monitors: all of them, or only those in certain folders, with certain labels, on certain websites, or a hand-picked list. Folders include their subfolders
- Columns to write: the fields that become board columns
- Click Add. The next detected change appears on the board
PageCrawl acts as the monday.com user who connected, so it can write to any board that person can edit.
What Happens to an Existing Board?
PageCrawl adds the columns you selected that the board does not have yet, and reuses a column that already exists with the same name and type. It never edits or deletes your other columns or items. If a column exists with the same name but a different type (for example a text column called URL), PageCrawl names it and refuses the board rather than writing into it. Rename that column in monday.com, or untick it, and try again.
PageCrawl also adds a PageCrawl ID column. It holds the change (or monitor) each item came from, which is how PageCrawl avoids creating the same item twice. Leave it on the board; you can hide it in the board view.
Available Columns
The page title is always the item name. Each column you tick becomes a board column of a matching type:
| Field | Column type | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| URL, View, Screenshot, Diff Image | Link | Links to the page, the change in PageCrawl, and the capture |
| Changed at | Date | When the check that found this change ran |
| Importance, Difference % | Numbers | The importance score (0 to 100) and how much of the page changed |
| Domain, Folder, Labels, Type | Dropdown | Where the monitor lives and how it is organised |
| Notification Status | Status | Whether this change sent an alert |
| Short Summary, AI Summary, Current Value, Previous Value | Long text | What changed, in words |
Item per monitor adds Change count, Last checked, Monitor status and First tracked, and leaves out Notification Status, which only makes sense for a single change.
Syncing Older Changes
A new destination starts with the next detected change. To fill it with what already happened, open the destination's menu and choose Sync recent history. PageCrawl sends the most recent changes for each monitor the destination covers, up to 25 per monitor and 500 in total, paced to stay within monday.com's limits. Changes the board already holds are skipped, so running it twice never duplicates an item. In Item per monitor, it creates or refreshes each monitor's item instead.
Why Was a Destination Paused?
A destination shows Paused when monday.com reports that its board was deleted, archived, or is no longer available to the person who connected. Other destinations keep working. Restore the board or its access in monday.com, then choose Resume from the destination's menu.
If monday.com reports that PageCrawl's access was removed altogether (the app was uninstalled, or the connecting user was deactivated), the whole card shows monday.com sync is paused. Click Disconnect, then Connect again. Your destinations are kept, so reconnecting the same account picks up where it left off.
Notes
- Note: Changes are written when a check detects them, so how soon an item appears depends on the monitor's check frequency.
- An item deleted from an Item per monitor board is recreated with the next change on that monitor.
- When a monitor is deleted, its item on an Item per monitor board is left in place by default. Choose Archive its item under When a monitor is deleted to have PageCrawl archive it instead.
- The monday.com integration is available on the Standard, Enterprise and Ultimate plans.
