App Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 24, 2026

"Mygtukynas MB" ("us", "we", or "our") publishes the PageCrawl app for Android and iPhone (the "App") and PageCrawl Relay for Android ("Relay"), a separate app described in its own section below. This page explains what each app collects, why, and the choices you have. The App is a companion to the pagecrawl.io service, and your PageCrawl account itself is covered by our Privacy Policy. Where this page and that policy both describe something, this page applies to the apps.

What the App Collects

Sign-in

The App signs you in through the pagecrawl.io sign-in page in your device's browser, so it never sees your password. It receives a sign-in token, which it keeps in the device's secure keychain or keystore.

Your account content

The App shows and changes the same data as the pagecrawl.io web app: the pages your account monitors, their detected changes, summaries, scores and screenshots. Adding a page from the App sends us its address and the name you give it.

Alerts on your device (optional)

When notifications are allowed for the App, it sends us the device's push notification token, its platform (Android or iOS), whether it is a phone or a tablet, the device name or model, the App version, and the device's time zone. We use these only to deliver alerts to that device and to line up quiet hours with your day. iPhone and Android 13 or later ask you before allowing notifications. Android 12 and older allow them by default, so there the App does this when you sign in; turning notifications off for the App in the phone's settings stops it.

Stored on your device only

The App keeps a copy of recent screens on the device so it opens with content on a slow connection, plus small preferences such as the workspace you last chose. This stays on the device and is removed when you delete the App.

What the App does not collect

  • No location, contacts, photos, files, messages or calendar data.
  • No advertising identifier, and no advertising of any kind.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or other tracking software.
  • No tracking of you across other apps or websites.

How We Use and Share It

We use this data only to run the App's features: showing your monitored pages and their changes, and delivering alerts. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising.

We do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Service providers process it on our behalf: the Apple Push Notification service delivers alerts to an iPhone or iPad, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers them to an Android device, and our hosting providers store the data. The processing of your monitored content, including AI summaries, is described in our Privacy Policy.

Security

Everything the App sends and receives is encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and the sign-in token is kept in the device's secure storage.

How Long We Keep Data

  • The device details sent for alerts (listed above): until you sign out of the App on that device, remove the device from your account, or delete your account, or until the notification service reports that the token no longer works.
  • Your account content (monitored pages, their changes, summaries and screenshots): while your account exists, with change history kept for the period your plan includes. About a month after you delete your account, its monitors, their change history and screenshots are deleted.
  • Backups: data that has been deleted can remain in our database provider's automated backups until it falls outside that provider's backup window. It is not restored to the service.
  • A closed account record: when you delete your account we keep a record of it with your name and email address, so the address cannot be used to open a new account. Account and billing records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires.
  • Sign-in history (the IP address and browser of each sign-in to pagecrawl.io, including the sign-in the App opens): 24 months.

Removing a Device, and Deleting Your Account

Signing out of the App removes the device from your account when the phone is online. You can remove any device at any time from your account settings on pagecrawl.io, and alerts to it stop. Deleting your account removes all of your devices.

You can delete your account from the App under Settings, Account, Delete account, which opens a page in your browser where you confirm it is you and delete the account. The same page is at pagecrawl.io/app/account/delete, and Account Settings on pagecrawl.io has the same option, with or without the App installed. The steps, and what happens to your data afterwards, are in How to Delete My Account.

PageCrawl Relay for Android

Relay is a separate app. It lets PageCrawl use your phone's internet connection to check public websites, for the monitors your team chooses to send through it. PageCrawl does the checking, saves the results and sends the alerts; your phone provides the connection. Relay does not sign in to a PageCrawl account and has no monitors or alerts of its own.

What Relay keeps on your phone

  • The relay key, which you add by scanning the QR code PageCrawl shows or by pasting it. It is stored encrypted, with a key held by Android that never leaves the phone, and Relay opts out of Android cloud backup.
  • Whether Relay is switched on, and whether it may use mobile data.
  • Its current status and the most recent sites it connected to, which Relay shows on its screen. These are kept in memory only, while Relay runs, and are cleared when you switch Relay off or the phone restarts. A few diagnostic lines, such as a blocked destination, go to Android's own system log on the phone.

The camera is used only to scan the QR code, and no image is kept. Relay checks whether the phone is on Wi-Fi or mobile data on the phone itself, to follow your choice about mobile data.

What Relay sends to PageCrawl

When it connects, Relay sends the relay key, so we know which relay it is, plus its platform (Android and the processor type) and its app version. Your phone's public IP address reaches us as part of the connection. Relay does not send a device name, model, hardware or advertising identifier, location, contacts, or the list of sites it connected to. The name a relay has in PageCrawl is the one you typed when you added it.

What travels through your phone

Only your team's own checks, and page previews, that are set to use this relay. The websites being checked see your phone's public IP address. For HTTPS pages the content stays encrypted between PageCrawl and the website, so your phone sees which sites are contacted but not what they send. Pages on plain HTTP pass through your phone unencrypted. Relay refuses to connect to local and private network addresses. Relay keeps nothing it carries.

What PageCrawl stores about a relay

For each relay: its name, platform, app version, status, when it was last seen, its most recent public IP address, any monthly data limit you set, when its key expires, and daily totals of the data it carried, its connections and the checks it served. We keep a one-way hash of the key, never the key itself. Members of your team can see these details under Settings, More, Relays. Our relay server's connection log records the connecting IP address and the time of each connection.

Other services Relay contacts

Only when you tap "Run self-check", Relay asks api.ipify.org for the public IP address websites will see, so that service sees your phone's IP address. Relay contains no advertising, analytics or crash reporting software.

Permissions Relay uses

  • Camera: to scan the QR code with the relay key.
  • Notifications: to show the ongoing status of the relay.
  • Network access and network state: to carry checks, and to pause on mobile data unless you allow it.
  • Foreground service and keeping the phone awake: only while the relay is switched on and running, so it keeps answering.
  • Battery optimisation: only when you tap to keep Relay running in the background, which opens Android's own prompt.
  • Start at boot: to start again after a restart, if you had it switched on.

Stopping Relay, and removing its data

Switching "Relay checks" off stops the relay and closes every connection. "Remove key from this phone" also deletes the key from the phone, and uninstalling the app removes its data from the phone. The relay stays listed in PageCrawl until you remove it under Settings, More, Relays, which deletes its record and its usage history, and monitors set to use only that relay go back to PageCrawl's own locations. Deleting your PageCrawl account also removes the relays of the teams you own. A relay key also stops working when it expires, at most one year after it was added.

Children

The App and Relay are not directed at anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

When this policy changes we update this page and its effective date. Material changes are also announced by email or in the App before they take effect.
