Whitmer Campaign Raises Record-Breaking $8 Million in 2018 - Gretchen Whitmer for GovernorSkip to content Stand with Michigan against hate. CONTRIBUTE TODAY! X Gretchen Whitmer for Governor About Issues News Media Store DONATE POSTED ON OCTOBER 26, 2018 BY ADAM FOX-LONG Whitmer Campaign Raises Record-Breaking $8 Million in 2018 Campaign builds grassroots army with over 60 thousand donations, 85 percent $100 or less DETROIT – Today the Whitmer for Governor campaign will report it raised over $8 million in 2018, with 85 percent of the campaign’s donations $100 or less. The campaign will report 62,298 contributions for the cycle, with 43,072 contributions from Michiganders. The campaign raised more than $4 million in the most recent period that ended on October 21st, and will report $959,242 cash on hand. “Gretchen Whitmer has all of the momentum in this race,” said Whitmer for Governor Press Secretary Nicole Simmons. “She has raised a record-breaking amount in her run for governor because she’s gotten into all 83 counties and talked to real Michiganders about what they want her next governor to focus on. She’s running a real grassroots campaign with an overwhelming majority of donations coming from inside Michigan and under $100. Gretchen is ready to keep her foot on the gas and continue getting Michiganders excited about finally electing a governor who will work with everyone to solve the problems they face every day.” Since entering the race for governor, Gretchen Whitmer’s campaign has raised more than $12 million for the cycle, more than any non-incumbent Democratic candidate for governor in Michigan history. Whitmer is continuing to build momentum in the race. Last month, the campaign announced the group ‘Republicans and Independents for Whitmer,’ which included the former Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, Mel Larsen, former U.S. Rep. Joe Schwarz (R-Battle Creek), and a number of former Snyder, Engler and Milliken cabinet officials. Whitmer has also been endorsed by the Detroit Regional Chamber and has been endorsed by more law enforcement organizations than Bill Schuette, the sitting Attorney General. Whitmer has released plans to fight urban poverty, protect women’s health and reproductive rights, clean up Michigan’s drinking water, improve education and skills training, create more good-paying jobs, fix Michigan’s infrastructure and make state government more open, transparent and accountable. ### Share this post: Share Tweet Email Post navigation  Previous Post Whitmer Launches Campaign Ad Focused on Getting Things Done for Michiganders Next Post   Former President Barack Obama Urges Michigan Voters to Support Gretchen Whitmer in New Radio Ad Meet Gretchen Meet Garlin Issues News Volunteer Events Media Store Donate JOIN GRETCHEN Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube Medium P.O.
