More than any other elected official, governors have been making the on-the-ground decisions that will determine the lives and, in some cases, the deaths of Americans during this pandemic. They are responsible for deciding when stay-at-home orders are issued to slow the spread of COVID-19 and have scrambled to try to ensure adequate medical treatment is going to be available when it does spread.   Read the full article here. The 30-second ad, titled “Battles,” focuses on Whitmer’s time battling an insurance company that denied her mom’s chemotherapy when she was dying from brain cancer. CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE AD AD SCRIPT: “This is where my mom was treated for brain cancer. It was so hard. I had a newborn baby at the time, a new job, and was spending hours fighting the insurance company to cover my mom’s chemo. A lot of you have faced those same battles. Bill Schuette thinks insurance companies should be allowed to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. I don’t. And as governor, it’s you I’ll protect, not them.” The commercial will begin airing on broadcast and cable TV stations across Michigan starting today. ### Share this post: Share Tweet Email Post navigation  Previous Post Former President Barack Obama Endorses Gretchen Whitmer for Governor Next Post   Michigan Firefighters: Bill Schuette is Bad for Retirees Meet Gretchen Meet Garlin Issues News Volunteer Events Media Store Donate JOIN GRETCHEN Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube Medium P.O. She’s running a real grassroots campaign with an overwhelming majority of donations coming from inside Michigan and under $100. Gretchen is ready to keep her foot on the gas and continue getting Michiganders excited about finally electing a governor who will work with everyone to solve the problems they face every day.” Since entering the race for governor, Gretchen Whitmer’s campaign has raised more than $12 million for the cycle, more than any non-incumbent Democratic candidate for governor in Michigan history. [DATE REMOVED], the campaign announced the group ‘Republicans and Independents for Whitmer,’ which included the former Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, Mel Larsen, former U.S. Rep. Joe Schwarz (R-Battle Creek), and a number of former Snyder, Engler and Milliken cabinet officials. Whitmer has released plans to fight urban poverty, protect women’s health and reproductive rights, clean up Michigan’s drinking water, improve education and skills training, create more good-paying jobs, fix Michigan’s infrastructure and make state government more open, transparent and accountable. ### Share this post: Share Tweet Email Post navigation  Previous Post Whitmer Launches Campaign Ad Focused on Getting Things Done for Michiganders Next Post   Former President Barack Obama Urges Michigan Voters to Support Gretchen Whitmer in New Radio Ad Meet Gretchen Meet Garlin Issues News Volunteer Events Media Store Donate JOIN GRETCHEN Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube Medium P.O.
