Help and answers for the Noticer browser extension. Noticer watches web pages you choose, on your device, and alerts you when they change.

Does Noticer check pages when my browser is closed?
No. Noticer runs entirely on your device, so checks only run while your browser is open. When your computer sleeps or the browser is closed, checking pauses and catches up when you return. The activity chart in Settings shows exactly when checks ran. If you need coverage around the clock, PageCrawl.io checks from the cloud 24/7, even when your browser is closed.
Why did I not get an alert for a change?
The usual causes, in order of likelihood:
- The operating system is blocking notifications. Use "Send a test notification" in the extension's Settings. If no banner appears, allow notifications for your browser in your OS settings and turn off Do Not Disturb or Focus modes.
- The page builds its content with JavaScript. Local checks read the page as a server sends it, so content rendered by scripts can be invisible to them. Noticer marks these pages in your list.
- The change happened while checking was paused (computer asleep or browser closed). The change is still detected on the next check after you return.
How often does Noticer check my pages?
You choose per page, from every minute to once a day. Alerts arrive when the next check detects the change. Note: pages with a "notify me only when" filter are checked at most once an hour, because filtering runs a small AI model on your device.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your monitors, settings, and page snapshots are stored locally on your device and are never collected, transmitted, or sold. There is no account and no tracking. The full details are in the Noticer privacy policy.
Can I move my monitors to another computer?
Yes. In Settings, use "Back up" to download a backup file, then "Import" on the other computer. The same importer also accepts exports from VisualPing, Distill, and plain lists of URLs.
How do I uninstall Noticer?
Right-click the Noticer icon in your toolbar and choose "Remove from Chrome" (or "Remove extension" in Firefox). All locally stored data is deleted with it.
